The red 80's skirt that was stretched out beyond belief has now transformed into a belted dress. From the second I saw this guy, I loved the pleating and the pattern. I knew that leaving the skirt pleats as is and creating a top portion to make it into a dress would work well. The light blue in the top and the navy from the belt loops really help to pull colors from the pattern of the skirt and make it a cohesive piece. What was once an unwearable skirt is now a modern sleeveless dress that will fit many sizes. The waistband elastic has a lot of stretch to it! This look can be dressed up or down and goes well with heels and a cardigan for work as well as strappy sandals and a big tote for Saturday mornings at the farmers market.
